Beggars Keep was formed around 1969 and was signed to local Windi records. We released a single with “A Home in the Country”, penned by John L & Joe, backed by “The Sailor”, written by John L. The rest of this collection were written by John Lauterjung. After playing frequently around the South Bay area clubs and colleges, the band broke up in 1971 when the owner of Windi records disappeared. Nothing was ever said about airplay or sales of the record. Joe & John L later teamed up in the band JT Bogie, with John Thomas and John Agostino among others. Both John Thomas and Joe Villegas have since passed away. RIP

Beggars Keep was:
Jim Buxton, drums
John Kimmitt, guitar and vocals
John Lauterjung, guitar and vocals
Carol Morrow, vocals and percussion
Floyd (Buz) Quarels, keyboards
Joe Villegas, Bass, guitar and vocals
